THE GOWER SOCIETY
Guarding Gower for all its worth
Gower Society Publications
The Gower Society considers that informing the public is an important part of its work. Talks help with this but a more lasting contribution is published material. The most important publication is now the annual journal Gower which contains accounts of research of all sorts. We have an index and the contents of the latest journals are summarised on this page.
We also publish books about Gower and a dvd. "Walking with Flowers" will help you to identify the flowers you see. We have recently marketed a series of blank greetings cards. These republish woodcuts produced by Edward and Iris Martin to illustrate past journals. We have to thank the Martin family for permission to use these fine drawings.
Details of the books, cards and the dvd are on other pages.
Gower Society Journals
The Gower Society has published its Journal, Gower, annually for over 60 years. The present Editor is Bernard Morris M.B.E.. It contains articles recording the history and other interesting facts about the AONB and the Lordship.
The National Library of Wales has recently published on-line versions of Gower to vol 56 with other societies journals.
